Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a way for individuals, families, and businesses to connect directly with a local, small farm. Members of Draper Girls Farm CSA pay for a regular subscription and in return the farm delivers buckets of fresh fruit bi- weekly at an established neighborhood delivery site.
CSA “share”-holders enjoy Draper Girls Farm legendary fruit every two weeks from February through May. The term “share” comes from the simple fact that by joining our CSA you are investing in Draper Girls Farm. The CSA program helps the farm to diversify its customer base, better manage cash flow, and become a more “sustainable” business in the financial sense. We farm sustainably from our hearts because we believe you only get out of something exactly what you put into it.
What do members receive in their buckets every two weeks?
Draper Girls Farm CSA is a year-round, mixture of fruit, vegetables, our own free range lamb, pork, and beef, free range chicken eggs, jams, jellies, butters, dried cinnamon sugar apples and our very own fresh non-pasteurized ciders. The farm produces over twenty varieties of apples, six varieties of pears, five varieties of cherries, along with peaches, nectarines, apricots, prunes, plums, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The buckets will vary dependent upon the season.
Where can I pickup my bucket?
Draper Girls Farm will be at the Hillsdale Farmer’s Market on Sunday’s; all that you need to do is look for our booth. You will need to bring your bucket from the previous time to trade out for a new bucket of goods. If you live locally you can pick up your bucket at the farm.
What is the cost of a membership?
Our winter membership will run from February 7th through May 16th and consist of a mixture of approximately seven to ten pounds of apples and or pears, one to two pounds of beef, pork or lamb, fresh chicken eggs, a half gallon or a gallon of fresh pressed non-pasteurized cider, dried lentils or beans, a jar of ether jam/jelly or apple butter and a bag of cinnamon sugar dried apples. Our retail cost at the farmers market would be around $65 each week; for our CSA members you pay $375.00 up front for eight "shares" for a $145 savings. Visa, Master, AMEX, or Check accepted.
